Sant Tachmazian

Upstream Process Safety Engineer, Immersive Technology CoE Lead

ExxonMobil

Sant joined ExxonMobil as a Process Safety Engineer. His passion for technology & innovation and his drive to “break the mold” led to the creation of a corporate organization geared to delivering value in Projects and Operations through the deployment of Immersive Technology.

Sant saw the pandemic as an opportunity to accelerate the digital transformation of internal work processes and procedures, ultimately reducing costs while enhancing peoples experience. He believes that this is only possible when creating successful partnerships between internal organizations – a challenge that large corporations often face. He believes that ultimately, in order for innovation to be successful, it must be tied to the business strategy.

“Everyone must work together in partnership to drive efficiencies and help accelerate the digitalization of their business. At the end of the day, there must be alignment within the business, who is going to own and implement this technology? who will pay for it? etc. Digital Technologies like wearables are changing the way we work and ultimately the way we live. We can now have high value interactions and provide the support that our field workers need remotely without being there in person, we can even walk through our facility in Virtual Reality before the facility is even built. Everything has become so much more convenient. In my book, convenience = efficiency = productivity = value, and we can all benefit from this”.‍

Sant currently leads the Immersive Technology Center of Excellence (CoE) which focuses on scaling, measuring and enabling immersive technology.
