Homero Rivas, MD, MBA, FACS, FASMBS is an Assistant Professor of Surgery, and the Director of Innovative Surgery at Stanford University. He has been involved in mHealth for many years. Co-Founder of Apps4Patients and DocToc, and advisor to many mHealth startups. He is a Glass Explorer (Google), and has several research projects using Glass and other wearables to improve safety in the operating room, medical simulation and education implementing augmented and virtual reality, among others. He is advocate of Hispanics in the USA and he champions mHealth and telemedicine among them.

He is a co-director of Stanford’s massive-open-online-course on mHealth, with over 20,000 registered students from all over the world.
