Michal Wojtak has more than 18 years of experience in the architectural and construction industries. Originally from Poland, Michal earned his master’s degree in architecture from the Silesian Institute of Technology, and he began working as an architect in 1997. In 2003 Michal moved to Chicago where he worked for a high-end residential architect primarily focused on implementing Building Information Modeling (BIM) Solutions. In 2005 Michal joined Mortenson Construction and quickly became a leader in the development of new processes and fostering collaboration through virtual design and construction (VDC).

He has led the VDC/BIM efforts on several high-profile projects for Mortenson, including the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri; Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, Illinois; Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska; and the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, among others. Michal’s current focus at Mortenson is to oversee VDC/BIM services on large and complex sports projects. He is also developing coordination and collaborative process, owner BIM deliverable implementation plans, and to working with construction teams to deliver direct BIM-to-field processes that combine quality, safety and procurement practices.
