Julie Pray is a Principal Engineer with the American Bureau of Shipping, Global Engineering and Technology Department. She has over 10 years’ experience in applying human element-related methodologies and data to diverse functions within the commercial and government maritime and offshore industries. Areas of expertise focus on advanced technology implementation, user interface and interaction design, human factors engineering program development and implementation, and improvement of safety management systems. She is involved in ABS’ efforts to define and align emerging inspection technology with the future of classification services and evolving business models and is leading the efforts to develop and execute the strategic plan for the implementation of wearable and mobile technology in support of the connected worker initiatives.
