SolusGuard began when our founder, Serese Selanders, was frustrated by the options—or lack thereof—for safety alert devices for her father. She set out to create a better personal safety alarm by researching other’s experiences, talking to experts, and bringing together a skilled team.
After creating a safety alert app and building the hardware for the physical device, Serese realized there was a huge need for a safety alarm like SolusGuard for businesses interested in workforce safety—particularly those that employ lone workers. Soon, we started getting orders for real estate agents, home healthcare and mental healthcare workers, and others in similar fields.
Serese’s goal was to make a personal safety alarm that was discreet, easy to use, effective, and reliable. The key component is our patent-pending technology that allows it to instruct a smartphone to call 911, even when locked or in sleep mode. This, coupled with the ability to alert multiple contacts, who can then communicate with each other through the SolusGuard app, makes our devices an ideal solution for keeping lone workers safe.
